Under general supervision, the Accounts Payable Clerk compiles and maintains accounts payable records by
performing the following duties requiring a thorough knowledge of organizational procedures and precedents;
and performs related work as required. This position requires the ability to work independently, exercising
judgment and initiative.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Enters all vouchers for payment.
Also prepares invoice deduction notices, as necessary.
Answers all vendor inquiries.
Analyzes vendor accounts and negotiates extended terms with vendors when cash is restricted.
Prepares accounts payable checks.
Prints all accounts payable reports and maintains all accounts payable files.
Prepares analysis of accounts, as required.
Assists in monthly closings.
Reviews statements and ensures all vendor accounts remain current.
Assists with special projects, as necessary.
